The Director General of the WHO himself advises that it’s time to focus on the detrimental effect work can have on our mental health.
In line with the narrative of the International Labour Organization (ILO) policy brief of 2022, which stresses the importance of supporting the prevention of mental health risks ….. I totally agree that investment and leadership are critical in this area.

For this purpose, I run a 6 month tailored program to meet this chronic need! It’s aimed at the top line in every business, regardless of size. I’m talking about happy supported leaders. In turn ,this makes better managers which in turn, leads to a happier more productive workforce.
It’s not rocket science and let’s talk about the fact that trouble and stress at work leads to worry and stress at home and vice versa. Typically, leaders in any roll, in any organisation, carry a lot of responsibility. The buck often stops with them. Quite honestly, it’s a lonely place at times. Just add in some home life issues and it’s a melting pot that for many. It overflows either at work or at home in some way. People are only human, and everyone has their breaking point and my aim is to catch it before it starts.
For years I have privately worked with execs who have already reached crisis point or worse. There’s often been no one to talk to and they’ve had a meltdown. Subsequently they aren’t able to even go to work for months. Most of them aren’t able to take their problems through HR because it’s too personal. If they have sought the usual help they return eventually with a wonderful set of coping mechanisms. This simply means the problem still exists. So eventually, given time, the same happens again, leading to even more loss of income for the company.
Surprisingly, the problem is never about what’s going on at home or work. The problem is how the issue is dealt with internally and its that process that makes the difference between sink or swim. So this is why everything seems to be fine for one person and not another. Whilst the environment seems the same, we all experience it slightly differently. That said, people who are constantly stressed find themselves in a continuous state of fight or flight all the time. This leads to high levels of adrenaline always being present in their system. These levels can cause havoc in the body, in the form of serious illnesses and fatigue.
The 6 month program for Top Line Managers
So, I will be working with each individual top line manager for just 2 hours every month. We cover any big or small, personal or work related issues they have bumped into during that time. One by one we will sort all these issues out using NLP Techniques.
What to expect…..
- The 2 hours will be totally confidential
- No reports will be issued to HR
- I will provide a safe environment
- Absolutely anything can be explored which could be both personal or work related
- Judgement and the like are left at the door
